About the event

On loan from the Texas Center at Schreiner University, Texas Traditions- We are what we eat: An Immersive History of Texas Sausage, gives a look into the history of sausage making in Texas. The exhibit explores the rich tradition of those that make their own sausage and how some of the most popular barbecue joints are serving up their take.


Exhibit runs January 24 through March 9, 2026.

Located in the Gillespie County Historical Society Social Hall.

Included with regular museum admission. Open during normal museum hours, Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
